Not only is 24 my favorite TV show, but like many otehrs, I often look to the show’s protagonist Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) as a sort of hero figure. In our post 9/11 world, the need for security and safety on home soil has heightened. We can all relate to the show’s situation of a pending terrorist catastrophie. Now into its seventh season, at the end of the day he defeats the terrorists and symbolizes victory over evil in our modern world. As a husband and father, he is no superhuman being, but rather an ordinary American we all can relate to.
